And…there may be snow, or simply frigid temps outside, but that is definitely not keeping baseball out of the news. Here are a bunch of updates from MLB on the moves happening over the last day:
-Phillies are reportedly ready to trade Cliff Lee to the blue Jays for Roy Halladay in a multi team deal. The underlying rationale behind this move is because the Phillies feel it is easier to resign Halladay to a long term deal instead of signing Lee to a long term deal. WOW!!

-Red Sox are reported to be giving John Lackey a physical as it looks like they will give Lackey a similar deal to that of AJ Burnett. Specific details of what those terms are have not been released yet!

-Phillies and Angels are said to be the front runners right now in the Matt Holliday chase!

-Someone has to check the out if the Cardinals have a drinking problem! For the fourth time in three years a member of the team has been arrest for DWI. This time around its third basemen David Freese!

-Brewers formally announce the signing of LHP Randy Wolf and INF Craig Counsell

-Blue Jays signed outfielder Jose Bautista to a one year deal worth $2.4 million. They also agreed to terms with catcher John Buck giving him a one year deal worth $2 million.

-Medical issues seem to be holding up the Red Sox/Rangers trade that woud send Mike Lowell trade to Texas for catcher Max Ramirez.

-Mets cut their ties with Tim Redding, Jeremy Reed, Cory Sullivan and Lance Broadway.

-Scott Olsen signs a one year deal with the Washington Nationals for $1 million, the deal also include incentives that could earn him up to $4 million if he makes 33 starts!

-Braves signed Matt Diaz to a one year contract worth $2.55 million.

-The Yankees have cut ties with Chie-Ming Wang

-Nick Swisher is playing himself in an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Mother set to air in February!

-There are still about 250 available free agents available out there!
