Topps Signs Stephen Strasburg

December 22, 2009

There’s been lots of hype surrounding Stephen Strasburg and to date the only major card available of him is of him in a team USA uniform found in 2008

Well all that’s about to change! Today topps announced that it reached an exclusive deal with Strasburg to be the only company to issue Strasburg autos and memorabilia cards.

Some tidbits from the release:

“Topps has signed an exclusive memorabilia deal with No. 1 overall draft pick Stephen Strasburg. The multi-year deal grants the longest-running manufacturer of baseball cards and the lone fully licensed maker of cards for Major League Baseball exclusive rights for autographs, game-used memorabilia cards as well as Strasburg’s image use on packaging and advertising.”
